I didn't stay at Rio. It is being gutted and totally refurbished. I was relocated to Evelyns' apartments nearby and run by same hosts Paula and Dennis. I was charged Rio price for Eves' which usually costs twice as much. My review and scores are for Eves'. Beautiful, big villa with 3 or 4 bedrooms and a massive communal lounge and kitchen. Spotlessly clean and well decorated with nice furniture and comfy beds. Owners very friendly and helpful. A bit further away from the beach but, very close to bus stop to Bridgetown and other resorts.

Paula and Dennis were so accomodating and hospitable. We paid an excellent price for our accommodation and stayed there 9 nights. It was near to everything you could possibly need; bus stops, shops, supermarket, beach, bars, restaurants & an atm. We stayed at the Evelyn Apartment as Rio were having some improvementsat the time. The room and apartment were clean and spacious and the air-con worked perfectly! The kitchen has all you need to self cater if that's what you want to do and there was a good sized balcony to relax and read or enjoy a drink. We had a water outage in the area, during our stay and Paula did everything she could to make sure we had what we needed. Even the restaurants in the Gap had to close their doors for the evening, however this didn't dampen our stay at all. We went West for the day and enjoyed a different side of the island. The local people near the apartment are lovely and always had a good morning or evening greeting. The bars and hotels along the beach are happy for you to buy drinks and food from their bars and many have happy hours if you'd like a cocktail or two! Dennis took us back to the airport for our return flight at a competitive price which was so convenient. All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The location is excellent. Paula is a very helpful host and anything which was wrong was rectified quickly and efficiently, ie our TV didn't work and we needed a lock put on the bathroom door.
