“If we had to sum up this home in just a few words: Love + Care + Food = Ararat B&B.”

A Truly Unforgettable Stay with a Beautiful Armenian Family Our 4-day stay at Ararat B&B at Chiva in the Areni Municipality of the Vayots Dzor Province in Armenia was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, Mrs. Knarik and Mr. Kajik welcomed us with open arms, making us feel not like guests, but like cherished members of their family. Their warmth, love, and genuine care turned our visit into a deeply personal and memorable experience. The home was peaceful and cozy, surrounded by a lush organic farm that provided the freshest ingredients for every delicious meal. Knarik treated us to a delightful array of traditional Armenian dishes—Dolma, Lavash, Lule Kebab, Khorovats, Pakhlava, Ttu Lavash, Rice Pilaf, Khinkali, and so much more—all lovingly prepared and bursting with flavor. One of the highlights was celebrating Kajik’s birthday with the family, filled with laughter, fun, and heartfelt moments. The generous servings of food and local drinks were made even more special by the love and care behind every offering. When we left their home, Knarik sent her love with us in the form of locally made jam, fresh fruits, chocolates, and more. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Saghatelyan family—especially Knarik, Kajik, and Qristina—for creating such a warm and welcoming space. Extending our love to Ararat & Family, Vigen & Family and Hovik & Family. Special thanks also to my friend Shushan for recommending this gem. If we had to sum up this home in just a few words: Love + Care + Food = Ararat B&B.

“11 out of 10! 🌸”

While the hospitality of Armenian people is legendary and yet the kindness, caring and warmth of the family that hosted was beyond legendary. We felt totally at home. Both the dinner and the breakfast they served us were exceptional (everything they serve they either produce themselves or buy from their neighbours in the village). And the family’s lush garden from where you can see the surrounding mountains took our breath away. Needless to say, the room was impeccably clean and comfortable. In summation: sometimes you really wish you could give 11 out of 10 grade.

Extremely nice place, lovely family (with a very funny child) that is very welcoming. They let you feel like you are part of the family. Breakfast is great, dinner is great (you can order dinner), there is lots of snacks during the day. The Host reminded me of my grandmother by constantly giving me something to eat. Host and hostess speak Armenian, and decent French, Host speaks Russian, Daughter speaks good English. One of the best places I have ever been.

“Thank you so much!”

The most beautiful family who made me feel like one of their own! Which was especially nice as a solo traveller. The bed is very comfortable and everything is kept very clean. After arriving at 20:30, they offered me an amazing dinner. Much of which is grown and produced on the property! Very pretty outdoor patio and garden and an excellent breakfast. The family works very hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Their house is located in a nice and quiet mountain village close to Areni. I definitely recommend. It is a good place to stay for groups or solo traveller's!
