Inns Overview

Built in the Georgian period, The Grove Ferry Inn is located 8 miles outside Canterbury. The property features a pub on the ground floor which offers riverboat trips. Free Wi-Fi and parking is available.
Some of the rooms at the Inn have a view of the Great River Stour and some have a riverside balcony. Other rooms at this property include a view of the Stodmarsh Nature Reserve, a protected wetland in the UK. Each room has a flat screen TV and a kettle.
A full English breakfast is served each morning at the Grove Ferry, which has a restaurant menu based on locally sourced and foraged ingredients. Homemade pies, burgers and soups are joined by local specialities including Kentish cheeses and Gypsy Tart for dessert.
A country pub with a pretty riverside setting, the Grove Ferry is a local landmark ideally situated for visitors exploring east Kent. The coastal resorts of Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate, and the pretty town of Sandwich, are all within 20 minutes’ drive, as is the historic cathedral city of Canterbury.

This family room comes with a king size bed and a single bed. The room has an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower above the bath and also offers views of the rivers. With high Georgian ceilings and sash windows, this room is in a quieter area of the property, further away from the pub.

My husband and I have visited The Grove Ferry Inn on special occasions for about 10 years. It is always the same - beautiful setting on the river, very friendly and helpful staff, nice room, excellent breakfast. GF friendly.

Upon arrival, we was greeted by Saffron who was absolutely lovely and checked us in and showed us to our room. Due to the room we had selected when making the booking being unavailable (apparently because of the previous occupants), we had been upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was amazing- the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, the balcony with views of the river was a welcome addition and I enjoyed sitting outside whilst having my morning coffee 😊 The breakfast we had was one of the best we’ve had anywhere we’ve stayed- everything was cooked perfectly, we thoroughly enjoyed it! The 11am checkout is generous too and allowed us to have a lay in, enjoy our breakfast very leisurely and still have time to freshen up before we checked out.

They accommodated our request to check in early and drop off our bags to change for an early wedding! Such friendly staff and a beautiful room with plenty of space for us four, very comfortable and a lovely powerful shower. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. It’s also worth noting it’s a beautiful setting and the whole building is lovely
