Mark “The best place we have ever stayed.”

In over 35 years of travelling across four continents I rate this property - Maurice's home (B&B) - as the best place we have ever stayed. Parts of the house date back to the 12th Century, with major renovations in the 14th and later centuries. Our room was like an apartment with a fantastic bed and other facilities. Maurice is a flamboyant, fantastic host. We arrived when he was cooking up a batch of stewed apples with cinamon, which we found out the next day was part of the lavish, silver service breakfast buffet that he provides for his guests. A rating of 10 out of 10 does not do this property justice. You must experience this property.

The care taken on the renovation. Light switches where you can expect. Beautiful colour pallet and generous decorations. The host was congenial and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional - one of the best ever - and we travel frequently.

We loved the location and history of this lovely home. The room and bathroom were beautiful. Very authentic. Mauritius was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding and the ambience even better. Such a beautiful table setting. Loved the background music. Convivial conversation with fellow guests. Appreciated the assistance with parking. A very memorable stay and a highlight of our holiday.
