This pretty cottage is on a surprisingly quiet little street just ten minutes' walk from the historic end of central Cambridge, with its punts, colleges, shops and restaurants. The River Cam is close by and runs along Midsummer Common and Jesus Green (this is also the attractive route to walk into town). There is a fine 1920's Lido next to the river, open in summer. But the cottage itself is in a thriving immediate area with its shops and small independent restaurants (including two Michelin starred ones; riverside pubs, an excellent wine shop with bar and outdoor food vans; Hungarian and Indian restaurants, bakeries and cafés and an Italian delicatessen with food to take away or eat in. The cottage is comfortable, warm and well-equipped. The owner/manager answered my messages very quickly and was very helpful and patient (!) when I locked myself out.
