This lodge, one of two on the property, offers a peaceful atmosphere. Bushes at the side separate it from the tennis courts and football fields, which can become lively during weekends. While the host home is also located on-site, it maintains a low profile. Positioned at the end of the road adjacent to the route leading to the reservoir, it is just a two-minute walk to enjoy the fields, play areas, and the scenic 2.2-mile path around the reservoir. A slightly longer stroll will take you to the local shops. Although we drove to visit the caves and tourist attractions, they are close enough to walk if preferred. The local trails in the Mendip reserve provide excellent opportunities for exploration. Onsite parking is convenient, and the lodge captures the morning sunlight beautifully. We utilized our stay to also explore Bristol and visit Wookie Caves, making this lodge an ideal base for discovering the surrounding areas. The lodge itself is spacious enough for us as a couple along with our dog. However, the outdoor area is not fenced, so it may not be suitable for dogs that require strict supervision unless they are well-trained and have good recall. Inside, the lodge features a generous living space, a sizable walk-in shower, and a well-equipped kitchen. The bed was comfortable; however, having just one large pillow and one thinner pillow each, to accommodate everyone was not ideal for us, but we managed. The host was attentive, ensuring we had everything we required and was readily available to assist us whenever necessary.While there are some books and DVDs available, we recommend bringing your own for additional entertainment. The outdoor furniture differs from what is shown in the photos but is still adequate for outdoor seating.
