The place is just outside downtown, with a parking area available if you have a car. I stayed in the big dormitory, which had a lot of beds, but it was quiet, and I was able to rest. The bed is comfy, and so is the pillow. Each bed has a plug next to it. The kitchen is equipped and spacious.

a unique hostel in a very old building on the edge of Chamonix. Mostly friendly helpful staff. The build mostly made of wood with large oak beems across the ceiling in the vary large open second floor dorm. Lots of bunk beds in the big dorm. Have to watch your head constantly if tall. Carpet on wooden floor that creks a lot, adding to the hostel unique atmosphere. Lots of steps upto the 1st and 2nd floors where the dorms ae located. Some handrals on the stairs. Break your own bed sheets, towel and/or sleeping bags. Bedding and towels available to rent for a fee. Brakfast available daily for 9.30 Euros. Good breakfast served in the ground floor dining room. includes tea/coffee/hot chocolate, cake, bread, jam, butter, sireals and plenty of food is available.Can wash clothes, 5 Euros per load including drying. A Micro Brewery is a 10-15 minute walk from the hostel. sSells reasonably priced alcohol and food. Chamonix town cente is a good 15/20 minute walk and the train station is a simliar walk, bus station is a little further.Large car park at hostel. Lots of activities to do in and around Chamonix town. Good speed, free WiFi throughout hostel. Large well stocked kitchen with several old wooden tables and benches, cooker, sink, fridge-freezer, 2/3 robbish bins, kettle, some tea is available for free. 2 toilets on ground floor near to the 8 showers in severate cubicals. One toilet on first floor, no toilets or sinks on second floor. One or two plug sockets next some dorm beds. Reception is open from 10 in the morning until 10 pm at night. Staff will wait a littl time if they know guests will a little late. Phone to let staff know. The main lady waited until 10.30 at night because i told her my bus was late and I am blind. Would stay again.

Generally nice but old building. You get some Alpine feeling. Friendly staff helping you with everything.

Location excellent, staff incredibly friendly, and with excellent views looking out onto Mont Blanc. Great when you consider the value for money vs. what you get. They're also really good at providing advice on how to get places and what to do in the area.
