The gardens were lovely and the staff very responsive (by message and in person ), kind, helpful and friendly. They arranged our trip to and from the homestay and it was very smooth.

The homestay had a peaceful, forest getaway vibe—perfect for a remote escape. Breakfast was included, and lunch and dinner (for an additional cost) were delicious, especially with the thoughtful vegan catering for our family. Meals were served family-style with a generous variety of dishes. The hosts, Chilly and Hai, were warm, accommodating, and happy to help organise anything we needed. The 3-hour return hike (though I didn’t do it) was highly praised by other guests who came back with stunning photos. The bioluminescence tour was magical, even though it wasn’t peak season. Bike rentals were available for exploring the island. A fan in the room helped with comfort during the night.

Quiet and charming homestay in a traditional Vietnamese village on Cat Ba. Chilly the host and his whole team were friendly and helpful with arranging food, activities and transport around the island and to onward destinations. It was easy to get around the village and even back to Cat Ba town when needed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience at a Vietnamese homestay!

Absolutely a unique accommodation in a very secluded village in the middle of the jungle. This place is still reasonably accessible and the owner of this place will help you to arrange transport. The village itself is nice plus there are several options for day trips. Make sure you wander inside the natural park for some wild nature experience. Food options are slightly limited. Outside of the main season is actually still a high season for local tourists but you will only meet them during the day and the village remains very quiet overnight (well besides animal noises 😁).
