As I was walking Peddars Way over 2 days this was the perfect location to stop after day one. A great pub, very popular with locals by the look of it, and I'm not surprised. Clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation adjacent to pub with a plentiful supply of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Room was nice and warm, bed was very comfortable, and no noise at night so I had a very good night's sleep. Good power shower in bathroom too. But the real gem was the lady behind the bar. I was starting to seize up a bit after walking 26 miles so she found me a comfortable armchair and waited on me hand and foot - it was very much appreciated. Highly recommended place to stay in a lovely village with priory and castle ruins and a large village shop and Post Office for provisions.

The bed was really comfy, lovely fluffy towels and all the staff incredibly friendly. Great location for walks with the dog, who was also made very welcome!

The pub and restaurant are a beautiful old building, which is just the sort of thing we like. The location is good and the two staff members we met were very friendly and helpful.
