We loved Hotel Experanza! Not knowing this area, we booked based on just a bit of research but weren't sure. Dennis and Kari are such welcoming hosts, we immediately felt like friends. The hotel itself is cute and clean and although it is on a busy road, the hotel itself is fairly private and very comfy with a nice pool and deck area and seating areas outside each room. It's just a short walk down to Playa Carillo which is one of the best beaches in Costa Rica. There are also a number of shops, restaurants and cafes within a minute's walk. Also just a short drive to busier Samara. Breakfast was home-made and hearty, with lots of options to choose from. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to this area.

Quiet and quaint place. The owners were wonderful to deal with, very accommodating. Wonderful location, lots of places to eat within walking distance. Breakfast was also wonderful, great variety of food.

Dennis and Kari are amazing hosts who cater to every need. They are always available to answer questions and offer local travel advice. They served a very good breakfast every morning.
