We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and charming little home while attending our daughter’s wedding in Grange-over-Sands. Travelling from Essex meant quite a long drive, but it was more than worth it—we were absolutely delighted when we arrived. Sue, the host, was incredibly welcoming and friendly from the start. She was also very apologetic about a slight odour in the house due to the previous guests, who had unfortunately left the kitchen in a very poor state with unwashed pots, pans, and cutlery piled up. However, we honestly didn’t notice any smell at all—in fact, the property smelt lovely and fresh on arrival. It’s hard to understand how anyone could be so disrespectful in someone else’s home, but we really appreciated Sue’s honesty. The house itself is full of character and perfectly suited our needs. We especially loved the mezzanine level and the quirky round windows, which gave it such a unique feel. The south-facing garden was a real highlight—completely secure, private, and ideal for our two dogs, who thoroughly enjoyed having the space to relax and explore. The surrounding scenery is simply stunning, with plenty of lovely walks right from the doorstep. We also enjoyed visiting the local pub, The New Inn, where we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff (and two adorable spaniels!). For breakfast, we made the short 10-minute drive to Truckhaven each morning—great value and a fantastic full English to start the day. All in all, we had a truly enjoyable and memorable stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend this property to others.

Quiet & quirky cottage, the enclosed garden is defiantly a bonus to relax in & also safe for your dog & bikes too.

Have stayed before. Layout of the building has huge character., with good facilities. Owners are pleasant and helpful and met us at the property, even though we had a key safe code for access. Setting is beautiful.
