The house is really well designed and comfortable, with comfortable beds and all the extras you would need. Yeri (the caretaker) is a really nice guy and easily accessible when any help was needed. We had a very special kayak on the nearby lake with him and some very interesting conversations. There is an abundance of wildlife all around you. We saw a Tapir just around the corner, many, many monkeys and Coatis, and Scarlet Macaws (hence the name of the house - they were in the trees above the house in hordes). It's a really beautiful area and I would say the best in Costa Rica for nature!

I concur with the other reviews giving this a 10. This is not just a place to stay, it's an experience. The Scarlet house is really a small part of the rating here, Erick is the real deal and makes it a unique experience you will remember for the rest of your life. Erick took us on the waterfall trip to Luna Lodge, the Corcovado hike, the nightwalk, and the lagoon kayak trip. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you have a personal guide and caretaker who has lived his whole life in the area. The amount of wildlife in the area is truly stunning. Erick is great with kids and his passion is unmatched. When he sees the animals (and trust me, he finds them when you only see green rainforest) it's like he's seeing them for the first time along with you. We hiked up to the waterfall and Erick is the first one to jump in the water! The nature here is raw and untouched. Erick made sure we got the best photographs, had great suggestions for unique family photos, panoramics, closeups of the animals, and is awesome at taking shots on your phone through his spotting scope. He also speaks excellent english and communicates with you prior to your arrival to make sure you are ready for the visit. He's a pro in every meaning of the word. I cannot recommend him and the Scarlet House highly enough, this will be the crown jewel of your Costa Rican vacation.

Scarlet House is exactly how we envisioned staying near Corcovado National Park. It is bigger than the pictures show, it is fully equipes and is located amindst the animals. Especcially with the extraordinary help from Eric we really discovered all the beauty this area has to offer. He is most likely the best guide around and really showed us so many animals and plants. He also was great with our three young kids. Due to Covid and the rainy season not all places to eat were open, so do bring some supply from Puerto Jiminez. If open, Eric can recommend the best places to eat (both for location and food quality). When we come back to Corcovado we will definitely go back to Scarlet House and Eric.

Beautiful hidden gem! Erick is one of the best host I ve ever had. His tour through the Jungle and his recommendations were superb! We are definitely coming back to this paradise!
