This review will cover 2 places - actual Harpers we booked initially and Gorgeous George we were relocated afterwards (same owners). So, Harpers first. There's nothing too critical about this place but it won't give you the feeling of what you see on the pictures as well. First and main thing we dint like about Harpers is the fact that the place is heavily scented with very questionable, sweet and heavy perfumes. Those smells hit you when you enter and follow the rest of the day. Another smell (more of cleaning chemicals origin) was sitting in the room with no chance of disappearing and there were no other rooms available, so after 1st night we were ready to cancel and move to another place but Harpers reception lady suggested to relocate us to another hotel from the same group (this solution was great). Another serious minus about Harpers is sound isolation - if you are staying on the reception floor be sure you'll wake up together with the 1st guest. It will feel like you are sleeping in the middle of reception area in the morning. Location is also not the best spot in Green point between the big road, some supermarket and a tall modern building. Quite on the contrary the Gorgeous George was great in most ways. Nice central location, a stylish New York style building and interiors, awesome rooftop terrace and probably best quality a la carte breakfasts you'll find in Cape Town.
