Delightful family run hotel/bed and breakfast. Charming hosts, very helpful and obliging. Very comfy bed. Great views of the surrounding countryside as perched high up a hill, car essential. No restaurant on site but excellent home made continental style breakfast including the cappuccino made by Giovanni the host. A very good trattoria run by Davide in the little medieval walled village of Montevaltellini, about a 10 minute drive. Excellent food and very atmospheric. We ate there both evenings.

We booked two days before we stayed at Poggio de Papi. Everyone was very friendly, I had nice conversations with the owner Giovanni, breakfast was super tasty (lots of choice), and the view ... 😍 We visited Lucca and Pisa - both cities are reachable within the hour.

Loved everything about this accomodation. Location was dreamy , on top of a mountain. The host Giovanni truly makes the experience much more enjoyable as he really makes sure his guests are looked after. We had a not so great start on our trip in Italy as we had some misfortune whilst in Rome. However after leaving Rome and staying at poggio de pappi, our negative experience quickly turned to a very positive one. The rooms were very clean, great deco and comfortable bed. The breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip through Italy. Great selection of meats, cheeses amd savouries .We only stayed 3 nights but if we could have would loved to have stay much longer . If you need somewhere to relax , enjoy beautiful scenery and try great food and amazing wine whilst in Tuscany, I highly recommend staying here. A big thumbs up to Giovanni and his staff, we will be back no question about that.
