The locality is absolutely great. It's part of Canico, and its 10 minutes by car to Funchal. Its a quiet part of the city, there are lot of vilas and small houses all around. You can see the sea (Atlantic Ocean) from the property, partially limited by the trees. We had absolutely private space here. Parking of our rented car was directly at the property as well. The garden is very nice, you can see a lot of lizards there. The pool was great especially for my son. For me it was a bit chilly, but even that I enjoyed it twice during our stay. There are a lot of restaurants and cafés around, several shops where you can buy groceries and other stuff. At the beginning of our stay I communicated with Micaela, who handled us the keys and showed everything. Micaela was very helpful. She told us where to go shopping, where to buy gluten-free groceries and she even ordered a gluten-free bread for us. We had a problem with coffee-maker and Micaela solved it properly, gave us another one. She was very kind! The inside of the house has 3 bathrooms, two bedrooms and a large kitchen-dining-living room. We felt there as at home. Beds were quite ok, but the sheets were "rustling" which was a bit uncomfortable when you were trying to fall asleep. All the house was really nice and clean when we came and I hope we didn't left it much dirt :). If I would go to Madeira once again I would definitely come to Casa Maravilha again.

Absolutely wonderful garden with all amenities: pool, sun beds, dining set and even a warm shower outside! We adored the little roofed bbq place, it was a shaded and quiet place to sit and eat. The house is clean and it’s easily to keep it cool and ventilated thanks to the mosquito screens.

The villa is in a great location. Easy to access the rest of the island by car or Funchal by bus. It is close to restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The pool is warm even without the heating turned on.
