Lodges Overview

Featuring guided tours and accommodation alongside animal enclosures, Jamala Wildlife Lodge is situated next to the National Zoo and Aquarium. Guests enjoy free WiFi and and an outdoor pool. African cuisine is served in the dining room.
All bookings include a zoo tour experience where guests see a variety of animals including lions, tigers, cheetahs, bears, monkeys, giraffes and zebras. Overnight safari experiences are also available.
The air-conditioned accommodation options include private suites and rooms, bungalows and a tree house. All offer a private bathroom, a refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Some accommodation offers a spa bath or bathtub.
Jamala Wildlife Lodge is 8 minutes drive from Manuka Oval. It is 10 minutes drive from central Canberra and the Australian War Memorial.

This room overlooks the Molonglo River, or Scrivener Dam and Black Mountain. Guests can relax and watch the Lemurs play through the large viewing window. Some rooms also include views of the lion enclosure. Situated in the main lodge, this 2-bedroom suite features 2 rooms both with sitting areas and 1 bathroom, which has a spa bath and separate shower. This is a split level suite with bedroom 2 down a small flight of 3 stairs. The Meerkat exhibit is just outside the room. Situated on a private floor within the Ushaka Lodge, this suite features 2 bathrooms, including 1 with a spa bath. Although you won’t be able to see any sharks from your room, you will be guided to an adjoining terrace that sits directly above the shark tank for a private meet and feed with these beautiful creatures. You will also have the exclusive opportunity to feed our hyenas. Overnight stays include: - Afternoon Tea on day of arrival - Morning and Afternoon Tour - Selection of pre-dinner drinks - Dinner with selected drinks - Breakfast This suite includes a guided tour to a shark tank, where guests can hand feed the sharks. Please note the price is based on 2 guests. Maximum occupancy is 6. Please note a sofa bed is available on request. There are no wild animals outside your room, so as detailed above, you will be taken into the zoo for a hands-on meeting with the fastest animals on earth — cheetahs!* This room is a short stroll from the main lounge, down a flight of stairs with views of the pine trees towards the Molonglo River. The room also has a private terrace and its split level design features a lounge area that can also comfortably accommodate 2 children. Additional bedding utilises a double pull out sofa bed. The infinity pool is the standout feature of this double room. Featuring free toiletries, this double room includes a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer and slippers. The whole experience was exceptional, the being so close to the animals with a private tour of the zoo . Staff were all amazing and attentive. The food was the best I’ve eaten - you will not go hungry here,
