“Fair”

The accommodation is very well located and its rooms are quite pleasant, but it's let down by its cheap (but presumably very profitable) institutional breakfast arrangements. Information provision at check-in needs to improve. Breakfast during the week is available for 90 minutes (from 7.30 until 9am). There is one coffee machine and at times there was quite a queue to use it. The kitchen refuses to serve any type of eggs other than fried. Cooked food and pastries are of cheap supermarket quality. There is a separate cafe on site, adjacent to the quadrangle (some rooms face onto the quadrangle). The cafe is open until 5pm and the quality of the snacks needs to improve. There is a bar beneath the cafe that reception staff omitted to mention. The bar and cafe are open to non-guests. Users of the bar can be noisy and inconsiderate when they leave late at night . Bedrooms are not air conditioned and they could be improved with blackout curtains, newer TVs and stands for suitcases. The bathroom extractor fan was thunderously noisy. It can be turned it off by using an isolator switch hidden in the wardrobe, but if it is left off after a shower at night then the bathroom is like a sauna still in the morning
