The Cluanie Inn is situated in the remote wilderness of the picturesque Glen Shiel on the way to the Isle of Skye. This mountain inn reflects much of the Highland’s unique rustic charm with character-filled rooms that are spacious and cosy. Each of the 18 rooms has a distinct character that reflects the wilderness lifestyle of the Highlands with warm bold colours, rustic wooden floors and complementary furniture. For those wanting to relax, unique rooms feature a Jacuzzi or sauna. The en-suite bedrooms are comfortable and well furnished with super king or zip-and-link beds, soft down linen and hospitality trays. There is also a drying room for windswept hill walkers and ample free-parking space on-site. The Cluanie Inn is a beacon for those who want to experience the majestic grandeur of the dramatic Glen Shiel.
The Cluanie Bar and Kitchen serves mountain-inspired cuisine, a menu of impressive hearty classics like burgers, ribs and steak, and international favourites in a lively and casual ambience where travellers and locals gather to enjoy the well-stocked bar.
Landour Bakehouse is a bakery and patisserie housed in an old-fashioned Bothy, situated across from The Cluanie Inn and serves a delicious array of unique handmade cakes, pastries and sandwiches, some of which are from recipes dating back to the late 1890’s. One can stop by for a quick take-away or enjoy stuffed croissants, scones, muffins, puddings and other tasty goodies while gazing at dramatic views of the Highland wilderness.

“Fantastic Hotel”

Very warm welcome. Our room was amazing with the mountains right outside the window. We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant then retired to our room. We had a bath and shower in our room and plenty of hot water. Lovely comfy bed so a good nights sleep. Breakfast was busy but plenty for everyone. Hot options and continental. The hotel has lots of history and lots of old photos on the walls and antique furnishings to compliment the setting. They have other sister hotels not far away so may try one of these next.

The location is very convenient for travel and I imagine for walking. The Inn is cosily decorated and has all the facilities you would want. The room had great moorland views and was quiet even though the Inn is close to the main road. Breakfast was extensive and good.
