We were warmly welcomed by Filipe who owns the property and he gave us a lot of tips for the direct surroundings. The garden is beautiful and serene, with birds and flowers. You have a lot of privacy around the cottage. At night it's very quiet, great for light sleepers :) The cottage itself is authentic, with cosy furniture and the kitchen is super well equipped, anything you could think of is there. We had a very relaxed stay and from Camacha we could also easily drive to starting points of hikes we wanted to do.

We stayed for 12 lovely days. The cottage was perfect - every bit as lovely as in the photos. The beautiful gardens were a delight to be in. The location was peaceful - very easy to sleep! Yes, you pretty much need a car to stay here, but that was always in my plan. 20 mins from the airport, 20 mins from Funchal. From the little we experienced of Funchal and a few other coastal locations, we were pleased that we had our own oasis of peace and quiet to return to each day. The local supermarket is great, and has all you need. 5 mins easy walk away, or a quick drive. The bakery across the road was another hit. When returning to Funchal, we'd stay here again without hesitation.

Cute little fairy-tale house in middle of amazing old garden. There is everything you need for relaxing and peaceful holidays. The owner Felipe gave us really good advices about restaurants, parking in Funchal etc. Supermarket is very close. Oh, and we had even beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers in our room when we arrived. It was really lovely.
