Chirila “Charming cottages surrounded by nature”

The location is absolutely stunning, it resembles a small botanical garden. There are two cottages on the property, surrounded by trees and flowers – both of them offer privacy and comfort. We rented both of them, but you will have intimacy if you rent them separately as well, as they are about 100 m apart from each other and from the main building, where the host lives. Mr. de Vasconcelos is a very charming and attentive host – he greeted us and gave us a brief history of the place and some useful tips for our stay. The houses were very clean, comfortable and well equipped– they are suitable for long stays as well, whether you are a group of friends or a family with kids. The location is great if you are planning hikes as Pico do Areeiro is 10-12 km away and Pico Ruivo is about 40 km away. The lovely Garajau Beach is only 9 km away as is the city of Funchal; São Lourenço, Santana, Machico, Porto da Cruz, Ponta do Sol, they are all easily accessible by car (25-35 min drive). This was our third accommodation during our Madeira trip and the only regret I have is that we didn't spend more days here.

Everything was perfect, we really enjoyed stay in Quinta das Faias. We were there with our two-year-old son and he loved there too. Garden is large and beautiful, with meny flowers, huge trees and free-roaming chickens. Owner Filipe was very kind, hospitable and helpful. House was clean and very well eqipped. We really appreciated fire place during rainy days. Otherwise I have problems with sleeping but there I had very good sleep during all our stay, which is incredible. I hope we'll come back here again.

Fabulous location and outstanding welcome from Filipe. This is a beautiful oasis of calm with a stupendous view. The welcome from Filipe included fresh homemade bread and marmalade and great recommendations on where to visit and to eat. The garden is very relaxing and adds to the sense of calm.

Lovely quiet,, well equipped and clean traditional style cottage in a large garden. The owner was very friendly and responsive. The kitchen and bathroom were excellent and the bed, towels and logs for the fire were renewed regularly. The location is convenient for mountains, coast, airport and Funchal. Supermarket within walking distance.
