The hotel has a new owner, and with a new owner, changers are in place, refurbished, to a good standard, would just say that for the elderly, the bathrooms could do with grab rails around the bath/ shower, a stool or chair in the bathroom , a phone in each room in case of emergency, I do understand that it's an old building and having phones in each room is not possible, but each floor could have a phone, another suggestion would be to have good communication with the restaurant and reception, we was not told to book in for our evening meal, so when we did go down to eat the restaurants had no table for our meal and we had to wait until a table was ready, also would have been nice to have different vegetables instead off having Carrott & brocoli over three days.

First impressions on entering the hotel were good with impressive reception area and grand staircase. Good self serve breakfast with plenty of choice. Lovely gardens and perfect location for accessing everything in Buxton.
