Could not recommend this place enough - Extremely friendly staff, very good options to book a variety of tours/ activities (we did the cooking class and painting which we loved), AMAZING food and lovely relaxing atmosphere in the evening. Room was very clean and had everything we needed

From the moment we arrived at Cheeky Monkeys, we knew this was going to be something truly special. Nestled deep in the lush Sumatran jungle, the villa feels like a hidden paradise where nature, adventure, and heartfelt hospitality come together perfectly. Sarah and her husband have created not just a place to stay, but a home away from home. Their warmth and care made us feel instantly welcome, and it’s clear they have poured their heart into every detail of this jungle retreat. The food was simply unforgettable thanks to Ellie, the incredibly talented chef. Every meal was a celebration of local flavours which were fresh, vibrant, and cooked with so much love. Dining here was a highlight in itself! We were also lucky enough to have a cookery class with Ellie & Ade which was exceptional and so much fun. Our jungle treks with Rian and Sarol were nothing short of life-changing. Their knowledge of the rainforest, wildlife, and local culture was inspiring, and their passion for conservation shone through every step of the journey. Spotting orangutans in their natural habitat with these guides was a dream come true, and I felt safe, cared for, and deeply connected to the jungle. Ade, the manager, ensured everything ran smoothly and effortlessly. His kindness and attention to detail made our stay stress-free and full of joy. Cheeky Monkeys is more than just a villa, it’s an experience that touches your soul. The combination of breathtaking nature, incredible food, and the most genuine, caring team made this one of the best trips of our lives. We left with full hearts, unforgettable memories, and a deep gratitude to the whole cheeky monkey’s team. If you’re looking for a jungle adventure that blends comfort, authenticity, and pure magic, Cheeky Monkeys is the place to be. If we could give more stars, we would!

Be a guest of Sarah, her family and super friendly staff. They are very flexible, full of knowledge about the community, can organise your trekking trips and other excursions. Food is good and the atmosphere in the garden is beautiful.
