“The loveliest B&B stay in Tom’s beautiful home!”

We had the most wonderful stay at The Firs. As our first stop on a road trip through Wales, we weren’t sure what to expect as we had never been to Builth Wells. Tom made us feel at home right away, giving us a tour of all the beautiful and eccentric art around his home. We had a lovely long conversation and got to know Tom, we felt we could have comfortably sat chatting all evening. We stayed in the flamingo room, which was lovely and cozy, with all the amenities a person could need. Bed was comfy and shower was great. We were impressed with the variety of breakfast available, and enjoyed our breakfast outside in the garden. Toms hospitality was unmatched by any other experience we’ve had, we felt as though we were staying with a relative instead of in a B&B. Thank you so much Tom for making this a brilliant start to our holiday, and an experience we won’t forget! P.S, we absolutely loved all the Wallace and Gromit Memorabilia!

Tom the owner has a lovely home, very unique and homely which I absolutely loved. It is an old cottage so be prepared for steps. The breakfast was excellent, more than enough choice. The town of Builth Wells is a lovely location with walks along the river Wye.

The host was super friendly, interesting and trusting The house was unique and interesting Facilities were goodAND there were plenty plug sockets Breakfast was abundant with plenty choice Chocolates in room a nice touch Host was helpful and flexible when our plans altered

This will be the most bizarre review as first impression was ‘what the hell have I booked’ approaching from the front steps. It was my fault missing the message from the owner to go to the rear of the property. Once inside this was the most cluttered, comfy, quirky and as I started with bizarre place I have ever stayed. There was absolutely no sense to the tremendous amounts of decor which insanely was brilliant.😁👍🏻 We had the run of the house along with another couple who by chance were going to the same function as us. They also loved the house. The bedroom and en-suite was very comfortable with the same unique decor to the rest of the house. Breakfast was continental but there was an amazing selection of fruits yoghurts preserves bread pastries and biscuits and more. By the morning it felt like a home from home.😁😊👍🏻
