This was a self catering house - easy to find with directions from owner. Keys in a lock box . We were with family their first time on Arran. I was over the moon when we got into the house. there was a double bed room with shower on ground level which was great, upstairs 2 b/rooms 1 double & 1 twin - perfect for the family, all beds very comfortable. The house was spotless and lots of little touches around the house like toiletries etc, the kitchen had an amazing stove and fully equipped with everything you would need and more. There were some supplies in the cupboard again great for just arriving - we had our own but it was very thoughtful to have. Nice garden and parking was perfect for 2 cars. There was a games room with sleeper couch and open plan kitchen dining & lounge. The room was bright with windows along the one side. It was a short walk to the main road and beach , shops etc all within walking distance. Lots to do on the island - stunning walks all over up mountains and Forrest walks. Most of the shops were lovely individual style shops selling a good variety of local made goods. Good bus service all round the island , the roads can be very twisty and narrow but worth either the drive or bus trip. It's a beautiful island with so much to do, it is not a party island but there are nice places to get food and the supermarkets on the island are all Co-op stores - no big named superstores. There are lots to see as you go around the island . Brodick Castle is a lovely day out , you can go thru the castle but it's main attraction are the wonderful gardens which have the most amazing horticulture from all over the world. There is also an adventure play park for the kids there as well. As you leave the castle grounds there are nice eateries and local produce shops to browse through. There are conservation areas also for birds, fishing etc around the island. Water sports within little sandy bays you can hire various crafts.

“Happy memories in a fab location. Will return.”

Well located and well stocked, it had everything we needed, practical and for comfort. Underfloor heating was great.
