The fine print
Please note that Hotel Isole di Brissago is only reachable via boat from Porto Ronco or Locarno. The last boat to the island leaves around 17:00. The bus 316 is connecting the Locarno Train Station with Porto Ronco. A boat jetty is available for guests arriving with a private boat.Please note that it is not possible to access the island with a car.

Photos and words cannot do this wonderful place justice. The location is simply breathtaking and once the last ferry leaves around 5:30pm you have the entire island to yourself with the other few hotel guests (10 rooms in total). There are picturesque viewpoints all around the island in the various areas of the botanical garden, where the vegetation is assembled by world region. The restaurant, while expensive, is worth every penny. Certainly one of the best dining experiences we have ever had - an intimate, quiet, superbly delicious meal looking out over the lake to the lovely town of Ascona under the kind and watchful eye of the restaurant manager who handles all table duties alone.
