The hosts Gill and James greeted us on arrival and departure. The barn has been renovated to accommodate 2 couples to perfection with everything you need for a country stay. Beds and linens, kitchen provisions, everything has been thought about by the hosts. The renovation has been completed with a great degree of detail. Bridgetown is a short drive down the hill and has a heritage feel with fantastic IGA, shops, cafes and restaurants. Great Sunday country markets.

Our two-night stay at Idlewild Bridgetown was absolutely stunning. Gill and James have created something truly special here — a space that feels both welcoming and unforgettable. They are incredible hosts, warm, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to making the experience perfect from start to finish. The property was spotless and beautifully maintained. From misty mornings to golden sunsets, the views are breathtaking. Inside, the cabin is stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home. Sitting on the deck, by the fire under the stars, or simply soaking in the peace — every moment was perfect. Idlewild isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an experience we’ll remember. We can’t wait to return.
