Location and check-in: La Maisonette is located right on the main square of the old town. I was upgraded from the type of room I had booked, so this review of the room is not quite comparable to the ten other hotels (all 3-star category) I stayed in during this trip. The room assigned to me faced the square, its Christmas fair and the Council House, although I think other rooms would not face that way. It was relatively easy to find, but since its entrance was in a small alley among many shops and restaurants, a bit of careful looking may be needed. Check-in was smooth. There was no lift, but the building did not seem to have more than two storeys anyway. The reception operated only during the day. However, the management reached out beforehand via messaging, so if one were to arrive in the evening, arrangements could be made. English was spoken, which was good. The room was huge, at least three times larger than I needed; I was initially concerned whether the airconditioner could provide enough heat for all that space (with its relatively high ceiling), but it turned out not to be a problem. Lighting was good. Wifi was good. There were plenty of electrical sockets, though one or two seemed loose and may need a handyman’s attention. There was a desk, but no desk lamp. There was a mini-fridge, a kettle, and sachets of coffee and tea. There was no safe. Despite facing the touristy town square the room was quiet largely because of the double-glazing. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom: The bathroom was also quite spacious, with a good-sized shower stall. Hot water in the washbasin seemed a bit slow in coming. In the shower, it came quite quickly. Water pressure was good. Drainage was good. No breakfast option.

Nice and cozy location, right in Piata Sfatului. Clean, warm inside, comfortable bed, easy to access. Also close to bars, restaurants, the Christmas market. The host was very communicative, always responding in time to my messages, providing all the necessary information.
