Staff were friendly and helpful. They tried their best to find a better room for us. When they couldn’t, they gave us a rate discount which was generous Dinner, although expensive, was top notch Communal areas lively with roaring fireplaces Beds very comfortable with crisp white linen

The rooms are as comfortable as you can expect from a heritage building. Lounge bar is great with comfortable leather chairs and a warm fire. Bar meals were tasty and reasonably priced.
