The staff were helpful and friendly. The reception is open 24hrs. Free parking. Close to the beach/town. The hotel is dated but served to be comfortable and budget for a one night stay.

I have stayed in this hotel 3 times now over the years, but it was on this occasion that I realised what a good hotel this actually is. Previously, I was unable to park in their car park due to no parking spaces being available. However, this time, I was able to park in their car park, and this was crucial in my understanding of what else is on offer at the Carrington Hotel. Firstly, it must be mentioned The Carrington offers free parking (a rarety relative to other hotels that charge for parking), and the car park isn't ANPR managed, so no anxiety about leaving at exactly 11:00 for fear that a fine might land on one's doorstep after returning home! Via the carpark, I walked around the entire grounds of the building and I saw the hotel swimming pool, which is of a good size but albeit sadly with no water in - but potentially it could be good! I also saw that the hotel has two pool tables and a table tennis table. Also, there is good entertainment in the form of a karaoke style offering but by someone who can carry a note! The room I was provided with was sufficient for my stay, In fact, it was quite spacious, and the cleanliness was acceptable. I was particularly impressed with the like-new kettle. The room also came with the standard hotel information, as well as a really cool post card of The Carrington, should one wish to write home to family, etc. Not all hotels provide this. I know all Brittania hotels offer a postcard, but it wouldn't surprise me if this began with The Carrington Hotel, which seems to me to hold onto fragments of its individuality. The other really convenient thing about this hotel is that they don't ask for a refundable deposit, which means that check-in and check-out are super quick and hassle free. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay here.
