I didn't know what to expect and was very worried reading some of the reviews .My friend chose this hotel .It's the cheapest place I've ever stayed in, and i usually stay in places that have scored 8 and above .It isn't as bad as i expecting ,you basically get what you pay for, and I think it's good value .First of all, the nearby area does smell of weed and has some dodgy looking characters around, but that has nothing to do with the hotel.I think alot of Blackpool is now run down and seems to be more homeless people around .The guy who runs the bar is so friendly and helpful .He went above and beyond to help,fantastic customer service .I have a few health problems and can't drink a lot of things, so he sent someone to the shop for mango juice .He spent a lot of time with my daughter and her friend, showing them card tricks and setting the pool table up for them, which made their stay .Drinks are very cheap £1.50 for a pint of Pepsi and £5 for a double vodka and coke. Kids drink free when you purchase a drink .We stayed in room 7, which has a nicely decorated shower, which was very clean.The room is very comfortable,yes, small and outdated deco, but what do you expect for £27.90 .I was surprised to have a tv for that price .Tv and coffee making facilities,duvet cover was lovely and thick .A lot of the rooms have been updated. Some are still a work in progress.All the corridors and stairs look like they have had new carpets that were very clean

The place was brill went out on a stag do and the staff was amazing even joined in had a good laugh and did the stags make up rooms were great beds was really comfy they went out there way to make our stay the best it could be I would highly recommend to everyone and I will be staying there again my new favourite location thanks guys you was awesome

When first arriving the lady running the Merlin greeted us & she was so friendly, helped us find parking, showed us around & took us to our room, the lady mentioned how she hadn’t had the hotel long & how she was doing bits to improve it & the room we had featured a brand new bed & mattress, which may I add was ridiculously comfortable, the bedding was clean & fresh, the quilt was plump & so were the pillows, for what you pay to stay here I would definitely say it is immense value, the bathrooms all had toilet paper & showering facilities, slept straight through the night with no disturbances, there was a lovely seating area out the front which you can see is well taken care of! Amazing stay, lovely friendly welcoming people I would definitely stay again!

Couple who ran the place was great. Great with children etc. Great bar pool table Great prices on the alcohol 🍸
