Owner contacted with us and send a person to give the key and show everything. This was nice. Everything was like in the photo. Kitchen is huge and so well designed and everything has you need. Also view was great. We used one room and one bathroom and everything was fine apart from cot.

The apartment is an excellent location on the edge of the Casco Viejo and just opposite the tram giving you easy access to many points of interest in Bilbao. Lots of places to eat, drink and sightsee a short stones throw away. I had asked about the parking arrangements before arrival and the host had messaged me with details of the closest car park and instructions on how to apply a discounted rate (so no actual parking included, but one within a short flat walk). The apartment is spacious, high ceilings, lots of character and filled with old objects that seem to have been found during its restoration. The kitchen is beautiful with modern appliances and very clean. There are tv's in all of the rooms! I would be happy living here! We found a great little cafe for breakfast in the morning just in the next block, a short 5 minute walk - Charamel Gozotegia. The picturesque balcony overlooks the river and beautiful Basque buildings and theatre, great to watch the world go by. Make sure to try the local bars for pintxos, the Erriberako merkatua (market) is very close to the apartment and a must see. I was surprised at how child friendly the city is with lots of parque and garden areas, especially near the Guggenheim. We had hired a car which we used to go to the beach in the hot afternoon and spent the last few days in Santander (another fab city with beautiful beaches) stopping at Castro Urdales enroute. We will definitely return.
