“A view to die for ;)”

I must admit I kind of fell in love! We opened the door to a well sized open plan kitchen-dining-living area, that led out to a fenced courtyard with plenty of seating and a balcony area giving fantastic views of Burgh Island and its iconic hotel (once popular with Agatha Christie & Noel Coward). Everything was very clean and tidy and of a nice quality but retained a homely vibe that meant I didn't constantly worry every time the dog moved. The little touches The rooms had big soft beds, which my teen & young adult really appreciated. My husband and I had a lovely little ensuite shower room which also had a door leading out to a second private courtyard and balcony. The parking area is shared with two properties in front of you (but no one else was there until our last night). Due to some mobility issues my husband drove to the beach carpark which is otherwise a very short walk away. The nearest shop is Holywell Stores, a well stocked Premier, in St Ann's Chapel approx. a 10 minute drive away, just in case you scoff your Tesco's delivery snacks too quickly. Venus Cafe in the beach carpark is open until 8pm (though we only had breakfast and lunch from there which was very nice). The first night we got fish & chips from Challaborough Bay after a short coastal walk to Fryer Tucks, also very tasty. All in all it reminded me of beach holidays growing up in New Zealand, just with added history. I hope to return soon.

“Wonderful seaside stay”

Wonderful location and delightful interior. There is a lovely living space with views of the sea and two well thought out terraces outside. We had a couple of unexpected issues arise during our stay and the owner was excellent in helping to resolve these.

“Perfect property for a peaceful seaside escape”

Fairwinds is a spacious, well-equipped property in a fantastic location, offering a peaceful and relaxing retreat. Our stay was made even better by Ian, who provided great communication and thoughtful treats on arrival. The property is perfect for dog owners, with plenty of scenic walks leading to stunning beaches and Burgh Island just a short distance away. One thing to note—there's no phone signal upon entering the village, so be sure to screenshot the key code and address in advance. However, once at the property, the WiFi is excellent, and the signal returns near the beaches. Overall, we had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend Fairwinds to anyone looking for a traditional beach holiday in a beautiful setting!

“Very good”

The view from terrace was amazing, the house was bright and sunny with nice decor and good kitchen equipment and the heating was excellent too once we had sorted out the gas bottle changeover. Stunning location, easy to find and good value for money. A bit tub would have really ticked all the boxes by the way.
