In my top 3 hotels in Europe (August Antwerp and Hotel Bourg Tibourg Paris are my other two). It's amazing. I've stayed a year before and I'll certainly stay again. Also had time to enjoy walking around Charlottenburg and discovering new sites. Lovely surprise gift on departure, thank you!

Super stylish hotel with an unusual past (that it was once a women's prison). My room overlooked a lovely courtyard filled with plants. Incredibly quiet at night. Extremely comfy bed and a gorgeous shower. Delicious breakfast in the morning; coffee and tea available any time from the general kitchen and lounge area.

Really exceptional and compassionate design incorporating the former prison architecture and elements with modern styling. Love the help yourself kitchen with delicious treats in the afternoons. The lounge and games room too. It's so very quiet being set back from the main road too. Lovis bar and restaurant follows the same exceptional design. Would love to return in the summer to use the roof-top pool.

Great location for Messe Berlin, which was only a short walk away. Unique hotel due to the former nature of the building and the thoughtful renovation.

Modern but quite spartan and we loved the communal spaces, didn't get to try Lovis or the other bar but from the short passing it looked lovely. Interior is beautiful but quite soulless, like an home decoration "ad" fulfilling all the trending criterias "earthy color scheme, a lot of light sources, Danish 60s inspired furniture and artificial incorporation of nature everywhere. It's a positive thing due to being simple and beautiful to the eye, if you're not toward the art deco or grandmother's living room style. Breakfast and the amenities were expensive but somewhat worth it considering the high quality ingredients and thoughtful choices. Not sure if it's positive or negative but the hotel overall felt like an expensive private room hostel. You get playrooms, a honesty serve yourself and pay at checkout bar, living spaces for interactions although the clientele due to the price point aren't there to meet new "travelers" to share next bar crawl with. And last thing! We wanted an urban escape from Berlin and while inside the walls of the courtyard and former prison, the bustling street of Charlottenberg wasn't noticable at all.

There is so much to love about this hotel, very accessible, beautifully converted historical building, we loved how the owners have preserved features of it's past life. Decor is very relaxed and beautifully designed. Breakfast was delicious, particularly all the bread and pastries baked at the hotel bakery. So many delightful touches, it felt like the perfect escape. Thank you to the team for making us feel so welcome and helped us celebrate a special occasion. We can't wait to visit again!
