Good price, location etc - unlike most public facilities you cannot enter the hotel onsen with tattoos, but this didn't bother me during a short stay.

We had a lot of space in the traditional Japanese room. The beds were comfy and the people are super helpful and friendly. The onsen are also great you can breath the fresh air and watch over the ocean. I also spotted two minke whales in the morning from the Onsen. The breakfast was also really really nice! Make sure to visit the wild monkey park if you stay here.

We had a great time here. The room was spacious with all we needed. The view of the sea was breathtaking. Onsens and sauna were wonderful. We loved it.

Booked a room with a private bath so that hubby could enjoy the onsen experience with his tattoo. The bath was big and spacious but I did find that the room that housed the private bath smelt a little bit musty being humid (airing it certainly helped). Otherwise the rest of room was spacious, a separate sleeping area with western beds, a separate bathroom that wasn’t the private bath, a “living” room and an entry way - we certainly did not feel cramped. There was also a lovely seating area to catch the sunrise in the morning. The public bath on top of the hotel was also very clean and the view was amazing. We took a room video tour on the trip but no photos so have attached screenshots which doesn’t quite do it justice. The hotel’s location is also quite handy, straight down the line from Beppu station.
