Comfortable, large room with lovely views. Food was excellent - Both Kaiseki Dinner and Breakfast served. Welcome drinks a nice touch. Bags already in our room when we arrived which I loved. Private and Public onsens both great.

Small but cosy ryokan. Friendly helpful staff. We had mixed opinions about the Twin Room, whilst it looked nice and the beds were comfy, the windows let it down. We did enjoy the rooftop private onsens and had no problem booking them each day for the times we wanted. The other priavte onsen slightly down the road was rustic and very hot but still enjoyable. The public onsen was quite small and the outside open-air bath area could really benefit from some lighting at night, if not to just light up those beautiful kumquat trees. The breakfast was excellent and different each day. I also enjoyed the free local mugi shochu whilst sitting in the lounge area. Location in Kannawa was fantastic and very close to the jigoku hells with good options to eat nearby (parituclarly Oono yakitori izakaya). Also the Highway Bus stop is just a 5 minute walk away (we arrived from Nagasaki) and the Kannawa bus station is a similar distance (we departed to Fukuoka). As expected the other guests were almost entirely Korean/Western.
