A fairly new place. The sauna was super. The bed was comfortable. The Kitchen was well equipped. Nice porcelain.

The hostel location is really near the station. Rooms and toilets were well maintained. Even came with a sauna which we can use for free.

Best hostel I've been is Japan. The room is big, with a big locker to store your belongings (I could fit a 16" laptop with a camera bag of body + 3 lenses, so it's big). You get a curtain that fully blocks the light, and gives you good privacy. The way the room & beds are aligned makes it very comfortable, it doesn't feel tight in space, like other hostels in Japan. The shared space and lounge is great, I met there some nice people and we hanged out there, and went to a Karaoke that's right in front of the hostel. The WiFi is strong, I could get some work done and make some calls, and the lounge is very comfortable for sitting with a laptop. Location is very convenient to get to places inside Beppu, and in general close to Beppu Kitahama bus station (5 min walk) And the price was fairly cheap for a hostel in Japan, and for what you get for the price.

Great location near the station and many restaurants close by. It was very clean, and had the sauna all to myself.
