The placement was excellent for a visit to Battle and the surrounding areas. The apartment was well kept, beautifully decorated, homely but with style. The rooms were immaculate, clean and had great space for storage if needed. The beds were very good. The outdoors private patio was great for the very warm weather we had while visiting. The bathroom was clean and the bathtub with shower was appreciated after a long day of exploring. The kitchen was stocked with all needed appliances and there was tea, milk and Victoria sponge cake bought for us upon arrival. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area again. Such a fantastic experience, thank you!

We wanted a Christmas stay in Battle, as we are interested in moving to the area, and wanted to see what the town was like over the festive season. The Roost was ideal - situated right in the centre of town, next door to the Abbey Hotel (we only heard the odd sound of revellers from the front room, and were well insulated from any disturbance), with a commanding view of the Abbey Green. We had assumed that we would make do with the Christmas tree on the green, and were thrilled to find that our hosts had actually provided and decorated one for us to put our presents under! We managed to have a splendid Christmas, cooking with the very powerful induction hob and oven, bringing food in from an Ocado order and the local nearby supermarkets. The beds were very comfy, allowing us to have restful nights despite the high winds and rain outside, and we managed to live comfortably with three people using the single bathroom. Our favourite thing was to sit with a coffee and a book, and observe the comings and goings of the town from the sitting room vantage point - especially seeing the Boxing Day Hunt meet with all the dogs, horses and onlookers! We loved our experience so much, we were somewhat sad to leave!
