Lovely stylish old hotel close to Basel station. Beautiful interiors. Comfortable quiet room with a large modern shower. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were really friendly and helpful. There’s even a screen showing train and tram times in reception. An unexpected treat to be given a Basel pass for free tram travel and half price entrance to the museums. Easy tram ride or walk to the old town.

The location is excellent a stone's throw from the Railway Station. Walking distance from the Museums and the Old Town as well. I particularly liked the informal entrance with the bar and tables to have small meals at AND the bonus of a great pianist from 5 pm. Great atmosphere. I was less impressed with the breakfast - the buffet was too spread out. No machine can replace properly made hot, boiled tea served in a teapot.

Fantastic location right outside train station and bus stop to airport and a short walk to main centre of Basel. Lovely comfortable hotel with sweeping stairwell and lots of history. Sweets, water and fruit available 24/7 in reception area. Amazing breakfast.Lots of variety.The crusty bread was to die for. Bedroom was roomy, warm and comfortable with a lovely big bath. A small fridge and water included. Staff really helpful..they found me an electric kettle to make a proper (Irish) cup of tea. We got a 1pm checkout - a huge bonus and they offered to store our luggage for few hours between check out and airport bus departure time. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
