EVERYTHING - this is the loveliest, quirkiest and charming rental we have ever stayed in. Lush big four poster bed. Unique backing sitting area overlooking river with fire pit. So wonderfully stocked and supplied with everything from coffee to popcorn to yoga mats and a million things in between. Coasters sum up the beautiful randomness of this place LOVE IT.

“Comfortable Stay”

The cottage was cosy, nicely decorated, and very well equipped. It is located near the local pub, Bowes Hotel, and is a good base for exploring Hadrian's Wall and the museums.

“fantastic accommodation”

Absolutely, everything was above and beyond description! Just idyllic location, and the owners are simply lovely! The quality and thought in every detail from furnishings to equipment! Extras like staples in cupboard! And on leaving a wee bag of goodies and lovely drinks bottle! It is truly an outstanding provider! Exceptional in every way!

“Simply fantastic!”

Great communications from the outset giving directions, timings and a website allowing early planning to local events. The hosts were on site to show us around and give top tips especially on the use of the pizza oven. Their hospitality was fantastic, leaving a small 'get you in pack' and further assistance offering a credible breakfast provision available to purchase, consisting of local produce for cooking at your own convenience. The venue (Garden Cottage) was so unique with practically everything you think you may need, available. Of note was the ice cube machine and a record player with a historic collection. We loved the small sitting area with fire basket on the river,, the communal socializing long table with effects lights and the breakfast bistro area to sit watching the birds with morning coffee. An amazing experience with friendly villagers, pub and shop! Thank you Mychael, Lisa and Izobela. We will be back to experience the River Cottage.
