Basic rooms with shared kitchen (newer, more modern rooms being completed). Less than 100m from Moyogalpa bus stop (or US$20 taxi), and same distance again to shops and bars. Lovely owner (Mardonio) made us feel really welcome and had lots of info on the area, spoke very good English (and of course, Spanish). Not spotlessly clean, but not dirty either. Key access to house, and separate key to room. Additional door (bolted from inside) leads out to back area and lake (literally a couple of metres away). Good wifi/internet/network, did drop a couple of times due to weather conditions, but this affected the whole island. Kitchen very basic, 5 ring gas hob/oven, juicer, fridge/freezer, general pots, pans, crockery and cutlery (very limited). Table and chairs. Water filter/purifier. Hand washing sink outside for clothes, and a drying line. Small book swap. Sparse bedroom, double bed (with mosquito net), bedside and other tables, chairs, plenty of hooks (but no other storage for clothes). Gets very warm, but fan provided. A few powerpoints around the room. Light bulb has battery backup so still shines even during frequent island blackouts. Basic bathroom with cold shower.

We loved our stay here so much that we ended up extending a few more nights. The bedroom and kitchen are clean and comfortable. The hammocks on the balcony are a great touch. We made friends with the guest in the room next door which was a plus. The store on the corner of the street to the main road has chocobanana for 5 cords and yummy nacatamals on a Sunday

The host was very helpful. They helped.woth a.taxi to reach from the ferry to the place. The location was good with a.nice patio in the back overlooking the lake. O would not hesitate and go ahead. Book your stay!

Amazing spot in Balgue, great value for money. The most enjoyable part of the house is the beautiful patio by the rock's beach. Our room was quite large, welcoming with a private bathroom. Kitchen is well equipped, you have all the essentials to prepare your meals. Cherry on the top is the owner: Mar is a sweet and really kind local man who loves to give you hints and tips to explore this beautiful island.
