Cosy, friendly pub/hotel/restaurant We stayed a night after attending the Chatsworth Christmas Market and found it very conveniently located in a charming village. We were upgraded to a small suite which was essentially a standardish-sized hotel room but with a huge bathroom. I felt the price was fairly high, but it seems there's a premium for staying in these parts so close to Chatsworth

We had an excellent time overall. The food and dining experience was excellent. Room was small and above kitchen but appreciate it was the last room available. When we mentioned the (VERY slight) dissatisfaction of the room location, the manager was swift and sincere in addressing our feedback and went over and above expectations. The location is dreamy and the period building paired with sympathetic design makes for a quintessentially English country escape - just perfect and we can’t wait to return.

Very clean and good attention to detail with the decor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location. Food was excellent. We walked into Bakewell along the river, and it took approx an hour. Good base for chatsworth house which we enjoyed too.
