We had a fantastic stay at the Badaling Hotel — it felt like home the moment I walked in! David and May are incredible hosts who truly care about their guests. We originally came to see the Badaling section of the Great Wall, but it was packed with tourists — there was already a queue from the cable car! Thankfully, we decided to book a tour with David, a true history lover. He guided us to a hidden section of the Wall with absolutely no other tourists in sight — peaceful, breathtaking, and unforgettable. Later, he brought us to a local farm where we enjoyed a delicious lunch made with fresh, local specialties and even visited an ancient Stone village where we tasted "warrior liquor." Truly the highlight of my China trip! Don’t miss the chance to take a tour with David if you want the real Great Wall experience.

Both David and May were amazing hosts, served me both on arrival and departure with great tea, amazing biscuits, and a warm welcome and goodbye. When I was in doubt both were always available via text message to clarify how to visit the great wall.
