Hotel location, we were in the Turnberry Room, few tweaks needed, mirror on table for make up,drying hair etc .... not suitable small round mirror should be a larger mirror on the wall, closet for clothes when opening door, small offside door opens which let's in the smell of food cooking from downstairs thus leaving our clean clothes hanging up smelling of food? Bed comfortable but pillows really big too big and hard making for an uncomfortable night sleep, when making coffee then should supply a heat resistant mat which would save all the burnt ring marks from the cafetiere. Decor was lovely and quirky. We arrived Friday 1st August. Friday afternoon after we went out a walk and returned to the hotel my husband commented that the gents toilets were extremely dirty faeces in the toilet bowel which as he did his best to clean up (considering it wasn't his mess) to no avail, there should be cleaning staff carrying out regular checks as the urinals were also flooded now I understand this facilities are used by walk in public but we had paid a considerable amount for a 2 night stay. So residents should not have to worry when using toilets what state or what they are going to find lurking in there. All the staff very helpful and cheery😊. Dinner on Friday night was good the Calamari was to die for, the beef cheek would have been soo much better without being in-cased in batter? And served with raw pickled onions from a jar? . Breakfast Saturday morning Eggs Benedict, the poached eggs were hard/solid, over cooke ? , didn't say anything as that would of meant the waitress taking away my husbands breakfast until mine was remade., and his would then of returned cold as I wouldn't of thought the chef would of remade his full breakfast so really wasn't worth the hassle Breakfast Sunday morning was 50/50 it's like the chef is not fully cooking every thing I.

Freshly decorated to a high standard. Staff very friendly and attentive, particularly Mary on reception and breakfast service. Also enjoyed our dinner, food was delicious and reasonably priced. Excellent red wine. Liked the individuality of the rooms and quirky layout.

Everything the staff made us fell welcome we got engaged there and couldn’t be more happier we will be back again room we’re spotless and so clean and breakfast was so good.
