We stayed at the Avignon Grand Hotel for one night and found it an excellent base for exploring the city. The location is particularly strong. It is right beside Avignon Centre station, making onward connections to the TGV station straightforward, and at the same time it sits just at the edge of the historic centre. The Palais des Papes, the Pont d’Avignon, and the main sights are all within easy walking distance, so there is no need for taxis or complicated transport. The hotel itself feels modern and suitably grand on arrival, with an impressive lobby that sets a good tone. Our room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and well laid out. The beds were comfortable, making for a restful night. We visited out of season, which meant the historic centre was pleasantly uncrowded and easy to explore at a relaxed pace. As a short stay base in Avignon, the hotel worked extremely well and we would happily stay there again.

Great location. Good value for money. Nice service and welcome by staff. Onsite underground car parking (€18 per night). Allows dogs!

The staff was really helpful, the superior family room really spacious and comfortable, with bath tub and shower. Lovely breakfast, convenient parking and location just in front of the street to walk to reach the centre in about 10’ walk
