The hotel was in the perfect place to explore the canal side and surrounding lanes restaurants and bars, five minutes walk away. Car parking was available nearby next to the shopping mall, a couple of minutes' walk. The hotel has preserved the original exterior of the building but revamped the interior very nicely offering a relaxing lounge area upstairs to sit and have a coffee or a drink at the bar in the evening. The breakfast buffet selection was excellent with a very wide choice from cereal, cooked foods, cheeses, cakes and pastries eaten in a light airy room decorated with traditional Portuguese tiles. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable, showers had plenty of hot water and the room was supplied with all that one needed for a stay. We found the reception staff particularly friendly and helpful. For those wishing to take a Molicero ride along the canal the hotel can arrange this and the boarding point is just across the road from the hotel premises. We only wish we had had a longer stay to enjoy the place. Note: there is no restaurant within the hotel but the reception staff offer a variety of suggestions on where to eat in the nearby lanes and along the canals.

Location brilliant as right in the centre beside the canal and close to restaurants and cafes. Staff all exceptionally helpful. Lots of lounge areas to relax in after long walks

Lovely clean hotel in great location, room was comfortable with Partial view of canal. Breakfast was excellent and staff helpful.
