We follow a lean, self-service and no-frills hospitality model to keep stays affordable, with select amenities available on a pay-as-you-use basis.Our hostel is located 15 km from Chikmagalur Railway Station and around 145 km from Mangalore International Airport, with taxis and buses available to reach the hostel.Drugs, misconduct, non-payment, theft, vandalism or policy violations will lead to immediate eviction without refund and possible permanent blacklisting.Outside food is strictly prohibited inside the hostel premises.Alcohol is permitted only in designated common areas and inside private rooms.Our cafe serves vegetarian food with self-service culture and operates 8 AM–2 PM and 6 PM–11 PM (timings may vary).Smoking is allowed only in designated smoking zones within the premises.For group bookings of 2 guests, same-dorm accommodation is not guaranteed as room allocation is automated and subject to availability.Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability.Visitors are allowed only in common areas between 9 AM and 9 PM and are not permitted inside rooms.Female dorms are strictly for female guests only.Local IDs are accepted.Limited parking is available on-site subject to availability (up to 4 cars).Silent hours are observed daily from 10 PM to 8 AM.The Hosteller is a backpacker hostel chain suited for young travellers, and does not permit guests below 18 years of age, even with legal guardians.The property is pet friendly, and we allow pets only in private rooms (not dorms). Any damages are attributable to the pet owners.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. We had such a fantastic time staying at The Hosteller Chikmagalur. The location itself is stunning, nestled right in the middle of lush, beautiful coffee plantations. It’s incredibly peaceful and offers the perfect escape from city life. The entire property has a wonderful, social atmosphere, which made it easy to meet fellow travelers. The common areas, bonfire, and group activities organized were brilliant for bonding. A huge thank you must go to the amazing team, especially Manu and Himanshu. They were both incredibly helpful, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Manu's guidance on local treks and Himanshu's warm hospitality really made our stay special. The quality of service from the staff here is truly exceptional. The rooms were clean, the hostel vibe was great, and we'd definitely recommend it to any solo traveler or group looking for an authentic and fun experience in Chikmagalur. We can't wait to visit again!
