This is a great (and one of the VERY few) accommodations only a couple of minutes walk to Atheras beach. The villa is spacious, with generous kitchen amenities, parking is free, and the veranda is lush green with vines full of grapes, which you are welcome to eat. We felt looked after. There is literally nothing but a couple of tavernas nearby, so if you plan on self-catering, stock up in Argostoli or Lixouri on food & drink before arrival. The host left a few beers, a local wine and some water & coke in the fridge which was a nice touch and much appreciated By the way, a car is absolutely essential to get around on the island. Atheras beach itself can get a little crowded, as it is only small, but is very popular with families. It's one of the few sand beaches on the island, albeit a dark sand, not white. Fantastic beach for kids, as it's shallow.

Great location, the beach is right across the house, 2 taverns are ner it as well. The apartment is fully equipped with all needed kitchen supplies. The porch was huge with a beautiful view of the sea, above it there was a vine tree with ripe grape which we were welcomed by the host to consume :) The host (Erieta) is a wonderful person! Made sure we have all we need! Welcomed us very warm with a gift of Kefalonia 's home made bottle of wine, cookies for the kids (a pack for each kid), unpacked coffee, fridge with juices and beer...there were 3 types of coffee machines and a frappe machine in the house. Kitchen is authentic vintage style with all kinds of plates and cups. I simply loved the place! Didn't feel like going anywhere during our stay which is totally untypical for us (as we usually prefer visiting different beaches every day and ) Lixuri is just 30mins drive time away from the house - for everyone who want to go shopping for souvenirs and explore the local restaurants
