Little apartment on the elephantine island. Ali is an excellent host and a joyful boat driver. The apartment is not mkdern but is very well-equipped - it has a small living room, two bedrooms and a nice terrasse. Breakfast is varied and very good. Super calm neighbourhood, locals are friendly and do not bother tourists.

I stayed at Rose's guesthouse. Ali (the host) was very hospitable. He welcomed me with some tea and gave me some.tips about the area. He cooked a fantastic breakfast, which was delicious and generous in quantity. I stayed on rhe 3rd floor in a clean and spacious room. I had access to the kitchen, a communal area as well as a terrace with a view over Aswan. The house is conviniently located about 3min from the public ferry (5 Egyptian pound). Beware as Google.map showed a slightly different location (but Ali is now aware and hopefully will have rectified that). Just turn right after leaving the ferry and go straight. The house is located on the right hand side and has a small sign saying "Rose's Guesthouse". I'm sure if you call Ali, he could pick you up at the ferry. The island is beautiful, calm and its people are friendly (definitely more laid back and relaxing than the town of Aswan). This is not a hotel or resort but if you are looking to spend the night in someone's house, in a quiet area, i would highly recommend staying there. It is great value for money and Ali will put a smile on your face.
