Ideal spot for staying between Assisi and Peruga. Incredible view on the city. And you can hear birds, that one might consider very inspiring, taking into account all the beliefs. You can stay calm and alone starring on crowded city. Best experience.

We took a train from Pisa to Florence to Assisi. The walk from Assisi train station was 0.7 miles to Unica along a long, straight road with pavement, definitely part of the Camino en-route into the city of Assisi. Great location with a full view of the city sitting on the hill. Walking into Assisi starts flat then ascends via a pedestrian area about 0.8 miles up ending with steps. Not difficult if you’re reasonably walk fit. There’s also Santa Maria (near train station) to visit once Assisi has exhausted you. Only about 1 mile walk from UNICA. Turn right out of their drive and walk straight into the town. We stayed in room 2 -a classic double. The vibe is shabby chic decor. Good size ground floor en-suite room. Very comfortable double bed, lovely and clean. Small en-suite shower ok for us, a couple for a few days. There’s a small fridge in room, plenty of wardrobe space, draws and at least 5 mirrors lol The room aircon was decent too. The staff were so friendly and kind, it felt like being with family. You could ask for anything and they’d go out of their way to help. We booked a table for dinner on our first evening and it was the best lamb I have ever tasted & I’m so fussy with meat. And huge portion sizes! Lovely pool and garden space which was perfect after a walk up & down from Assisi. There are buses to/from Assisi but it was so close we walked everywhere.
