Outstanding food both for breakfast and dinner - some of the best we had while in Japan with many local specialties. The private onsen were comfortable and very nice. Location is great if you're in a car and it's easy to explore the nearby Aso-Kuju National Park from there.

Traditional ryokan – we had a room with a toilet, and the onsen was shared. The room was comfortable and clean, but for us the highlights were two things. First, the “shared” onsen actually means four beautiful private baths – you simply borrow a key and enjoy the onsen privately as a couple or family, which was very pleasant. Second, the food – absolutely delicious, and what you see on the photos is exactly what you get. We highly recommend this ryokan.

I stayed there for one night with my husband and son. We took the dinner there. It was amazing and worth for value. The room is spacious. We stayed in a room for 12 people and only charged for 3 people. We went in July and air con was cool and comfortable. There is a vending machine where we can but cold drinks all the time. They have 4 private bath rooms for family use. We could enjoy the hot bath comfortably.
