Our one-night stay at Marsh Mere Lodge was an experience we will never forget. The house itself would already be worth visiting as a museum, but unlike a museum nothing here feels old or outdated. Every single piece has been lovingly chosen, arranged with great taste, and remains fully functional. The result is a unique atmosphere where history and comfort blend seamlessly. The sea-view suite is truly special. At the same time, the warmth of the owner makes you feel completely at home. She is truly a treasure, caring, kind, and attentive in the most personal way. Breakfast, though we only had it once, was a highlight in itself. It was freshly prepared with love, beautifully presented, and served with perfection and heart. Marsh Mere Lodge is more than a place to stay. It is a rare privilege, a masterpiece of style and hospitality that simply cannot be surpassed. However, it is not for those who prefer industrial charm or a modern setting, as it is filled with antiques in the very best sense.

Marshmere Lodge is a delightful little gem - themed bedrooms full of delights, of which I’m sure we had the very best example - with super views across the bay. Breakfast was exemplary - I had a very “full Irish” following on from muesli/fruit/greek yoghurt, and my wife had eggs from the house chickens with what looked like a “side” of smoked salmon! Claire was a most agreeable hostess.
